as you can tell, i have been neglecting this site for the last little bit. we are working on a new out of orbit website, and i have a feeling that it will be up before too long. there is a ton going on right now, so it is hard to find the time/motivation to actually get the ball rolling on this. we have the main design worked out, but once we get going on the rest it won't take too long.

in the meantime, we have some better live recordings from another pour house show on the way. they should be up this week, and hopefully everyone will hear the progress we have made in just a handful of weeks. that will probably be the last update before the new site is revealed.

stay tuned...

out of orbit is BACK!

that's right...we have found a singer and are full speed ahead on getting our material up to shape! we are excited to announce that josh adams will be our new frontman. hopefully everyone will get to experience our new sound soon enough, but you'll have to give us a some time to get josh situated with a lot of our material. as you already know...we don't write the most straight-forward music out there, so it probably will be closer to 2007 before you see us out. stay tuned for more updates as we continue to get up and running...

also, be sure to check out a great show coming up NEXT friday at the lincoln theatre featuring jam pain society with pivot and runaway cab. you won't wanna miss that one...

see if you can find your resident alice in chains fanatic...

no news is good news, right? not too much to expand upon right now. we are still looking for a singer and have met some really cool people along the way. it is awesome to see that there is a lot of interest in how things are going with us. the interest from vocalists has been pretty amazing too. we obviously feel very strongly about our music, but sometimes it is hard to step out of that bubble and get a different perspective. watching the way total strangers have reacted to us has been cool...it is reaffirming to see that we are doing something that totally grabs people from the moment we start playing. we are really grateful for all the comments and new perspectives that have shone through in the last few weeks...it has been extremely energizing for the three of us.

new recordings up from our instrumental pour house gig. our new illegitimate love-child of a song is up there too, so be sure to check it out.

moving on...

already have a good response about the search. hopefully we will find that missing piece of the puzzle. in the meantime, we are opening for lactose quervo next wed, aug. 2nd. not quite sure what we will play, but im sure there will be some suprises. maybe we can get some lq peeps up there for a jam session. come on out for the most fun you can have on a wed...mug night! oh yea, and lactose quervo will rock your socks off. you have my word.

in what is probably very suprising news for those who follow us, karlo and the rest of the band have mutually decided to part ways. we have been doing this for a very long time and something like this is never easy to do. all of us feel that it is necessary for everyone to be able to move forward in their own way. we have been through a lot together...more than i could have ever imagined. we definitely hope for only the best wherever the road may take him.

so in the meantime, that leaves the rest of us with a decision. do we continue with out of orbit, or do we each follow our own path? we still feel strongly about the music we have created and will create in the future. i think a lot of people would want to see us continue to push on and not just put the past few years behind us. in that case, we have decided to stick it out and see where this new change can take us. we are all excited about the new vision that will hopefully come from this. all we really know is that the music we create is bigger than each of us individually...and that is something powerful enough to continue pursuing.

i guess that means the next step is looking for a vocalist. so if anyone out there knows of a singer or has any leads for us, be sure to shoot them our way! hopefully out of orbit can be out on stage again soon...doing what we do best. thanks again for all the support!! send those singers our way...

great times at the dive bar! a little bit of an 'impromptu' situation, but it all went smooth in the end. really glad we got to hang with our buds in lactose quervo. they are the shit and it is always great to watch them play.

i will be updating the shows page with a new one here soon...with a couple more possibilities on the horizon. hopefully things go well, but either way look for some news here in the near future.

thanks to all who showed support last friday! we had a great time as usual at the berkeley, and would like to thank fenix for hooking it up! copies of the demo will now be available for free at shows, so be sure to check us out at the pour house in a couple weeks and pick some up. until next time...

i hate you myspace!!

you make it so easy to update all our information that i have neglected my own website. it has been too long. shit...i barely even get real email about the band anymore. it is all on myspace. local bands will fall off the face of the earth if myspace ever crashes.

our last few shows have been a blast, and we are excited about getting out there again at the beginning of the summer. farm jam should be a great time out in the woods that you hardcore live music people should definitely check out. until next time...

the disc artwork is done (looks amazing!) and we have pretty much finalized the duplication process. we should have pressed copies sometime in the next few weeks. in the meantime, the shows page has changed a bit. hopefully i will be adding to that here soon, so stay tuned. the show at the dive bar is coming up soon!!

3.26.06
thats right...both secret and unattainable are now up on the web! check the music section for the .mp3 files. it is only really our 3rd recording experience, but our last since awiu in 2003-2004. for the few of you who may even have our live at baylees disc, i'm sure you'll be able to hear a huge progression in how we sound. no, i don't know what time signature any of our songs are in, but i do know that they sound best when played extremely loud. crank it up!!! and if you happen to see this little guy...be sure to run away really, really fast.

3.22.06
just got back from the studio. sittin here with the master cd in my hands. i asked matt if i should put it online yet, and he said "noooo, it has to get the out of orbit stamp of approval first." he is right...we need a day or two with it to make sure it is "for good" done. we will convene after the weekend at some point and have a blood letting ceremony to put our living mark on it, signifying the end of the process. then i will post the songs, and maybe a new guestbook that hopefully won't get spammed again.

we would like to give mucho thanks to both john and chris, who did an amazing job with the recording. we didn't really know what to expect going into this...lots of people tell us that we need to shorten our songs or take parts out without really digging deeper into the music. they were really enthusiastic about it, and you can be for damn sure that it comes through on CD. they both rock and were definitely a pleasure to work with. and they put up with us! which can be a feat in itself...

check back with us real soon

3.02.06
so here it is...a snippet of what is to come. we are done with the whole production thing and now have to go on to the mastering thing. don't worry, once the mastering thing is over, we will have the whole demo up on the web , available for free download! just be sure not to play it backwards, cause we have all kinds of subliminal messages telling you to do crazy shit...

satan rules.

2.22.06
i urge everyone to take advantage of this rare opportunity...we are playing for FREE tomorrow night! i know, i know. it is just too crazy to be true. but we are...and you should come out if you are in raleigh and happen to read this. we will also be in fayetteville with our buddies shard from WAY back in the day (seems that way at least) on friday.

i keep holdin back on the clips from the demo, just cause it's not DONE done, but i may post a quick "blurb" like i did with AWIU. this weekend maybe?

2.08.06
another year down...

finishing touches on the demo should be done shortly. a show coming up friday, and a couple more in the works. stay tuned.

so...it is finally 2006. time is weird. speeding up, slowing down...things that happened yesterday seem like so long ago, and things that happend 6 months ago seem like yesterday. speaking of which, it seems like we should be done working on our demo, but time has taken a hold of that too. it is a great thing, because lots of care and effort is being put into it. it won't be much longer now, but it will be well worth the wait. the whole process has been incredible and opened our eyes to many things. here are a couple of teaser clips to keep you interested for some...time?
